We took 61/2 couple of mainly unentered hounds down to the show located at the Mission Valley Kennels. There were 8 other packs showing. After watching the first 6 classes, which were for the American Hounds, our hounds are all crossbred, so are not eligible we had our first class.
7) Single Unentered Dog Hound -- We showed Iguana and Harley-- no luck here
8) Couple Unentered Dog Hounds -- Iguana and Ironman -- 2nd place!
9) Single Entered Dog -- Domino and Drifter--Didnt think too much of their weekend away, so didnt cooperate!
Lunch was next on the agenda, it was nice to get in out of the drizzle, and to find out where all the spectators were hiding! The North Hills Hunt was well represented, giving Wayne King and myself lots of support.
19) Single Unentered Bitch-- We showed Iowa-- 5th place, so missed out on a rossette by one place, she did well.
20) Couple of Unentered Bitches-- Illustra and Isadora-- 3rd place.
21) Single Entered Bitch -- Dee-- A stong class, so didnt get anywhere here.
22) Couple of Entered Bitches -- Gloria and Gemini-- Showed well, again no luck.
23) Brood Bitch -- Dee and Fancy -- Been there, done that, so didnt bother showing!
25) Stallion and his Get-- Domino with Iroc, Ironman, Iguana-- Showed very well, 4th place.
Hounds showed well, I was pleased with how things went considering we had less than half the amount of hounds that all the other packs took down to the show. Luke Matranga and Joel Bahl were great, as unofficial help to me when called upon.

Mission Valley Hunt put on a great party Friday evening complete with plenty of Mint Juleps ( among other beverages ) celebrating the Kentucky Derby and a large spread of good home cooking. If you left hungry it was your own fault. Plenty of good conversation and hospitatality followed and a band started at 9PM for those inclined to dance or listen.
The weather was the only problem Saturday for the show but in the afternoon the showers ended to make for a more pleasant show. Hunts that I noticed at the show were:
